It is amazing how many people still use the old Nokia 6310i. It is so popular that shops are scrambling to get refurbished kit. “We can’t get enough of them,” said Eoin Rea of Rea Communications in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow. “There are hundreds of people in our vicinity who still want them as replacement phones.” So much so that Rea ships in refurbished models from Britain and sells them on for between €220 and €250 each. €250 for an ancient, five year old phone? “I have no problem selling them,” said Rea. “There are loads of companies with trucks or cars on the road that invested in those car kits. And the phone itself has a fantastic battery life and can take all sorts of knocks.” It’s a dead cert that Rea’s 6310i loving clientele are male and over 40. And they couldn’t give a hoot about 3G, ringtones or downloads. So could Nokia consider a limited run of the 6310i to fill this obvious lucrative customer demand? Don’t hold your breath -- the operators wouldn’t be best pleased.
Or how about a new phone, in the bodyshape of the 6310i?!
Everyone loved that slimline model. (unfortunetly I broke the screen of mine on the first day.)

The in-laws love my old 6310i because it doesn't snag their coat pockets and because it dries out well on top of the rads when they get it wet. It's survived one toilet drop and one tea bath.

Still have mine... will clutch onto it as long as it keeps going.. you said it battery life, tri-band, ease of use, car kit, form factor, etc.. changed back to it from the blackberry and the ipaq

Interesting piece - use a BlackBerry, have had a myriad of PDAs but still use this phone. I also noticed that is is the only phone that provides full functionality when using the in-built Bluetooth in BMWs. DC.

I had a 6310 for the past few years, had the car kit installed, so when it broke, it was a major headache cause I had to find a phone to fit the car kit, low and behold nokia stopped making phones to fit this car kit but I found one for sale in a phone shop which sells seocnd hand/refurbished phones. Cost me 150 euro, was like new and have never had a problem with it to this day, fingers crossed, it stays like that. Bough the phone in Dublin City centre in a shop called Gsm Solutions, have purchased things from them since, great service and cheap prices. Would recommend them,
