Although I've had this camera for some time, I've only just gotten around to checking out its (HD) video recording facility. The results are pretty good. Especially as you have the advantage of the 200mm zoom lens, if you forked out the extra €400 for it at the time of purchase (which I did). The camera, by the way, costs €800 with the standard 18-55mm lens and €1,200 with the big 18-200mm lens.
The 500D's HD recording is 1280x720, so it's not 'full' HD. But it's good enough.
What you see below is a combination of the HD video and YouTube HD.
