Starting a tech-related business? If you're registering your company at the Companies Registration Office, you'll need to attach a designated sector that fits your company's activities. For tech firms, here's your choice:
| 72000 - Computer and related activities |
| 72100 - Hardware consultancy |

51 not necessarily right either. You can have too many categories. Also assume you can only be doing 1 of 51 things so you end up with lots of poor categorisation and bad data. Saw this as part of a project that reduced the number of classifications when capturing customer data i.e. chicken sexer was one of the categories for occupation and at the same time I couldn't find anything to describe me properly. Also encountered this in Insurance applications. Filled in occupation as Project Manager and got sky high quote. When asked why was told -" well you're in construction"..... They had difficulty processing the fact I was an office based IT worker. If you really want to do your head take a look at the book 'Classification and its Consequences' for some serious sociological issues with categorisation...

72000 - Computer and related activities --> That's so broad why even bother with all the other categories. Sure, let's develop our "knowledge" or "smart" economy. Let's just hope that doesn't require accurate CRO fillings.
